Lethbridge Interagency Network (LIN) Meeting
The Theatre Gallery - Main (downtown) Branch
Friday, January 17, 2020 at 9:30am - 10:30am
PRESENTATION: Lethbridge Elder Abuse Network ( LEARN) – Heather Bursaw and Joanne Blinko
The next LIN meeting with be on Friday, January 17 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. in the Theatre Gallery, Main Branch, Lethbridge Public Library. I know there are a lot of agencies who are starting new programs, classes, etc. for the new year – please remember to bring copies of your brochures to hand out.
As well, Alana Johnson from Rural Routes (Norquest College) will be teaching a session on Plain Language from 8:30 – 9:30 prior to the meeting. Did you know that 45% of Albertans cannot read well enough to understand medicine dosages, documents received in the mail, emails and memos from work, etc.? As most of us are working with this population group, being able to create publicity that they will be able to read and understand is of great necessity. Please bring examples of publicity you have (printed, website, etc.) so that you can work through it to see how easily it can be read.
As the library does not open until 9:30, if you are coming to the Plain Language workshop, you must enter through the service entrance doors (northwest end of the building where the bike lockers are). Please be ready to start at 8:30.
