Lethbridge is protected 24 hours a day by firefighters and emergency medical teams stationed in different parts of the city.
They are trained to deal with all types of fires, medical emergencies and disasters and will keep us safe in dangerous situations. In an emergency such as a fire, a violent crime or a serious medical problem, CALL 911. An operator will ask you about the emergency and where it is. Stay calm when you talk to the 911 operator. If you are an immigrant with no English and are unable to identify yourself, do not worry; using technology, they can locate you and help will come.
Did you know? DON’T CALL 911 IF IT’S NOT A REAL EMERGENCY. You can be charged with a crime if you use 911 for anything other than a serious emergency.
Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services is committed to educating the public to create a safer community. Fire Prevention Officers are active in the community throughout the year sharing fire safety messages with Lethbridge residents, big and small.
