Enjoying Lethbridge

For a full list of parks and trails, see the City of Lethbridge website. The Helen Schuler Nature Centre located in Indian Battle Park offers children and adults a chance to get close to nature. The Centre’s programs let you explore and learn more about the plants and animals of Southern Alberta.

Lethbridge hosts many entertaining and cultural events throughout the year. You can find a calendar of events on the City of Lethbridge website.

• The Rotary Dragon Boat Festival: Runs in early summer at Henderson Lake Park. Dragon Boat teams from across Western Canada race across the lake. There are live bands, food and activities all weekend.
• The Alberta International Air Show: Held each summer at the County of Lethbridge Airport and features aircraft on display and flying demonstrations.
• Whoop-Up Days: A week-long celebration of Southern Alberta’s Western heritage, with cowboy themes, an exhibition and fair, and much more, held every summer.
• Heritage Day Celebrations: Held the first Monday in August. It is a celebration of ethnic cultures and features entertainment, food and fun. • Canada Day is July 1st and marks the day Canada officially became a country in 1867. An all-day celebration is held at Henderson Lake Park with live music, activities and fireworks.
• Street Machine Weekend: Held every summer, with people from across Canada showing off their cars and trucks. These are displayed at the Show & Shine and you can watch them drive around on Cruise Night, or race in the 100-Foot Dash.
